Veneers are one of the staple procedures used in cosmetic dentistry today. Once the patient's customized veneers are ready, the dentist takes off the temporary veneers and cements the customized veneers into place. Adjustments are made as needed before sending the patient off on their way.
Porcelain veneers are the most likely to be used by a cosmetic dentist since they provide the best aesthetics. Porcelain is also resistant to stains so it is easier to keep these restorations looking pearly white. Porcelain veneers can last over a decade with good dental hygiene.
As you can see from the above, veneers are not the only option when it comes to closing gaps. Composite bonding is the most affordable option, but it only lasts a few years. Clear aligners and braces can be used to close even large gaps, but treatment times take up to a year on average.
